Lei Culture of Nella Media Group invited Pumehana and myself to rep The Contingency in a sit down and talk story with musician and activist Kiran Gandhi, also known as Madame Gandhi, we happily accepted.
We met up with Kiran at arguably the best for reasons cafe on O‘ahu + my favorite, The Manifest towards the end of 2018. It had been quite the year, and the conversation was mostly about island politics, social justice, empathy, and organizing — but as I’m sure our conversation could’ve been its own video in & of itself, and they were covering Kiran’s entire week long visit to the island, only a small bugget for brevity:
